Black History Month w/ HVKBP

The education department at Historic Virginia Key Beach Park celebrated Black History Month with a series of educational events. Two presentations were conducted, one virtually to the Northeast Dade/Aventura Library and another in-person at Sidley Austin LLP. Additionally, five Miami Dade County Public Schools visited the park for tours, and NOAA AOML participated in a Black History Month tour.

The education department had a very busy month for Black History Month.

Two presentations were given on the history and impact of Historic Virginia Key Beach on Miami’s Community. One virtual presentation to the Northeast Dade/Aventura Library and an in-person presentation to Sidley Austin LLP a Chicago based law firm in Brickell.

There 5 schools from Miami Dade County Public Schools that visited the park for a tour. They were iPrep Academy North, Khaila Montessori Academy, Christopher Columbus High School with Miami Dade College Homestead Campus and Barry University.

NOAA AOML visited for a Black History Month tour.
