HVKBP COMMUNITY WORKSHOP: “BUILDING OUR LEGACY”
Join the Conversation
Thank you for being a great contributor to Historic Virginia Key Beach Park and the City of Miami. Because of you, our community is a better place. For that reason, the Virginia Key Beach Park Trust is inviting you to a Visioning Workshop to move forward the planning for a new Civil Rights Museum at the Historic Park.
We need your understanding of the needs and wants of OUR community. We want to hear YOUR intellectual contributions to this unique and impactful space.
WE CANNOT DO THIS WITHOUT YOU.
The global cultural consulting firm, Lord Cultural Resources will facilitate the conversations. Lord Cultural Resources has helped plan and operate cultural spaces in more than 460 cities since its founding in 1981, and has a long history with Historic Virginia Key Beach Park. They have also worked on the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History in Washington, D.C. and the National Center for Civil and Human Rights in Atlanta. The firm’s team of experts in the planning, writing, architectural and financial realms collaborate to create cultural gathering places with the greatest possible impact on their communities.
Analysis of these inputs will be used to establish visitor experience, operations, staffing and facility recommendations, and to formulate a final business plan for the new Museum. Lord’s insight and expertise will be invaluable in creating an unprecedented space not only in Miami, but the nation as a whole.
