This historic park holds an important place in Miami’s history, as it was the only beach designated for African Americans during segregation. It was home to family reunions, dances, and community gatherings. Today, it remains a vital green space, offering recreation while also helping to combat urban heat and the effects of climate change.
We will be planting native vegetation to protect the dune system, increase biodiversity, and strengthen Miami’s resilience against climate impacts.
