The Fairchild Tropical Botanical Garden recently enjoyed a workday outing for their staff and volunteers at Historic
Virginia Key Beach Park (HVKBP).
They spent the morning removing invasive and native plants that were encroaching on the habitat for the Beach Jacquemontia endangered plant specie, which they had planted around 10 years ago.
HVKBP’s education team also joined in the invasive removal and discussed ways to get volunteers involved to help maintain the federally protected habitat.
